Life without a filter

I often wonder what the point is in trying to portray a perfect life to everyone else. The life through a social media lens hardly ever shows what we really look like, feel and experience everyday. Browsing through these edited versions of life can become a real trap, setting ourselves up to feel inadequate and discontent, when we compare our reality to what we see on social media.

Ditch the filters and expectations of what you should be like, look like, feel like. So, whether you’ve had a busy day at work or looking after your family, just be real with yourself and pause long enough to acknowledge how you feel. That is the start of any self-care.

With valuing how we feel comes the invitation to put ourselves first, to care about our self. It means that you spend a little more time looking after you and what YOU need to feel content. Worry less about what that looks like, or if it is ‘Instagrammable’. Because how YOU feel matters. You matter.

Can you share one thing that you do to look after yourself?
